For anyone walking in Starfield Library, they must have felt exactly the same as how Belle felt when Beast introduced her to his library at the castle. Anyone who steps in here will be awestruck! Shinsegae Property officially opened the large-scale library in Starfield Coex Mall, featuring 50,000 books placed on towering two-story bookshelves.

Service kiosks and an information center can help you find the literature of your choice and while the majority of the books are in Korean, there is also English-language reading sections available.

The library’s most striking features are probably the three towering bookshelves that dominate the space. Standing roughly 13 meters tall, the bookshelves are stacked to the ceiling with books and they make for great photo backdrops. With popular amenities such as free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and plenty of power outlets, it is no wonder you see as many browsers and serious readers. So snap away, you Instagrammers! 🙂

This 2,800 square meter-sized library is located at the center of the COEX underground shopping mall. This is heaven for you book lovers out there! 🙂 Shoppers can freely browse, read and search for books of their choice on kiosks stationed at various points inside the open library area. The aim of this library is to create a cultural complex for its customers and fulfill its corporate social responsibility. It also helps to boost traffic to COEX mall as well.

Although this is a library, there are a variety of cultural events and performances that are hosted by Starfield. Arts performances, live music, and lectures are just some of the events hosted at Starfield Library for any visitor. The lauded Korean poet Ko Un is just one of the famous figures that have taken part in the library’s cultural events.

Soaring at 555 meters above ground, one can be forgiven if they feel as if they are walking amongst the clouds when visiting the magnificent observatory.  This unparalleled architecture is proudly the nation’s tallest and the world’s fifth tallest building. The observatory offers a panoramic view of the entire capital city, beautiful both day and night. Visitors are highly encouraged to enjoy a small snack or coffee from the Sky Friends cafe while choosing to sit either in the lounge or on the sky terrace. Those looking to enjoy a glass of wine with the panoramic views can head on to the Premium Lounge on level 123.

The tower encompasses the observatory – Seoul Sky, office space for VVIP – Premier 7, super luxury hotel – Signiel Seoul, first class residential facility – Signiel Residences. The Global Business Hub for premier offices is located just next to it while the Podium is a one-stop center for arts and culture activities for the young and old.

The observation deck has two story-high glass windows for an uninterrupted view. The Sky Deck, located at 478m, hold the Guinness World Record as the highest glass-floored observatory in the world. On days when visibility is limited, visitors can still enjoy a clear sky through the Sky Theater. The 120th floor holds the Sky Terrace, open to the elements.

Visitors can enjoy art in the exhibition zone in basement levels 1-2. The exhibition includes artwork displaying the history, culture, and pride of Korea’s foundation and success over the centuries. Visitors can also purchase Seoul Sky merchandises from the gift shop as gifts or souvenirs.
