For anyone walking in Starfield Library, they must have felt exactly the same as how Belle felt when Beast introduced her to his library at the castle. Anyone who steps in here will be awestruck! Shinsegae Property officially opened the large-scale library in Starfield Coex Mall, featuring 50,000 books placed on towering two-story bookshelves.
Service kiosks and an information center can help you find the literature of your choice and while the majority of the books are in Korean, there is also English-language reading sections available.
The library’s most striking features are probably the three towering bookshelves that dominate the space. Standing roughly 13 meters tall, the bookshelves are stacked to the ceiling with books and they make for great photo backdrops. With popular amenities such as free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and plenty of power outlets, it is no wonder you see as many browsers and serious readers. So snap away, you Instagrammers! 🙂
This 2,800 square meter-sized library is located at the center of the COEX underground shopping mall. This is heaven for you book lovers out there! 🙂 Shoppers can freely browse, read and search for books of their choice on kiosks stationed at various points inside the open library area. The aim of this library is to create a cultural complex for its customers and fulfill its corporate social responsibility. It also helps to boost traffic to COEX mall as well.
Although this is a library, there are a variety of cultural events and performances that are hosted by Starfield. Arts performances, live music, and lectures are just some of the events hosted at Starfield Library for any visitor. The lauded Korean poet Ko Un is just one of the famous figures that have taken part in the library’s cultural events.
